Treyarch has fixed a few black ops 2 public matchmaking within black ops 3, it seems there are in this message in. Another issue.
Treyarch wants to improve upon the sometimes frustrating matchmaking and party interaction of its predecessors. When speaking to Edge magazine the head of Treyarch, Mark Lamia, pointed out that when they collected data from Black Ops 2, they saw that the matchmaking scheme already implemented was severely lacking. Playing with friends was difficult and it wasn’t easy sticking with the same group of people if you wanted to switch game modes quickly.
So they’ve developed the Safe House, a community hub that should be able to facilitate a better way to play online. When we looked at data from Black Ops 2, we discovered that people were playing multiple game modes in a single session, and we realised we had to make that easier, especially now we have a co-op experience. Essentially, it sounds like it’ll be an in-game representation of a server browser combined with other functionality.
Instead of using your mouse cursor to refresh the list of servers and see whose online, you can literally see where all of your friends characters are and join them from inside the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Matchmaking Improved With Virtual Community Hang-Out
In South Africa, especially related to the console community, we have been faced with uncertainty with each new Call of Duty title. This uncertainty has always stemmed from the fact that our connections have sometimes not met the minimum requirements of the international standards. Yet there is still concerns over the priority of how games will be found. In the latest from Treyarc’s very own head designers tweets, the game will use latency and ping to coordinate matchmaking for Black Ops 2.
One of the biggest releases of the year – Call of Duty: Black Ops II – is mostly famous for its multiplayer mode. The pre-order bonus for the game included the.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 uses ping and latency “exclusively” for multiplayer matchmaking
During the self-reflective journey of personal growth and Sergeant rank iterations constituting Call of Duty’s multiplayer, players have historically connected via a matchmaking system that used their regions as the sole basis for grouping together soldiers with similar connection speeds. In a tweet sent earlier this week, Treyarch Design Director David Vonderhaar revealed that Black Ops 2 deviates from standard procedure and matches players via ping and latency exclusively.
It is in and being tested. Not region based anymore. October 25, Speedier sessions and reduced drop-outs should arise as a result of the new system—in theory, at least.
Filter all games that can be joined by proximity to the player. Proximity does not adhere strictly to city, state or country as seen on a map.
Though a compelling single player element and engaging cooperative modes like Zombies have always been subheadings on the calling card of Call of Duty , the franchise’s real bread and butter is its multiplayer. Beyond keeping players engaged for dozens of hours upon end, the multiplayer helps prolong the length of the title long after the hour campaign has been completed.
However, with this year’s new Call of Duty , Black Ops 2 , hitting store shelves in just a few short weeks, a pretty substantial change is looming in the horizon. No, we’re not talking about the new features — like futuristic weaponry — that Treyarch is cooking up for gamers, but a new back-end change that should further improve the quality of that fan-favorite experience. As confirmed by Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar over Twitter , Black Ops 2 multiplayer gamers will be matched with one another based on ping and latency.
In the past, Call of Duty has used a player’s region to determine what type of opponents they should be teamed up with and against, but for Black Ops 2 that will no longer be the case. Instead, this highly anticipated shooter and direct sequel to the first Black Ops will make sure that players with a strong connection aren’t forced to do battle against gamers whose connection can barely play the Black Ops 2 trailer. Moreover, this should presumably alleviate inherent lag-based problems gamers have had with Call of Duty since Modern Warfare — problems that on the PC-side can be correct with dedicated servers.
It is in and being tested. Not region based anymore. While Vonderhaar would not outright explain how this new ping and latency-based player matching would work, we hope that it can provide the most lag-free experience to those gamers who pay hand over fist for a solid exceptional connection. That said, the fact that Treyarch needs to announce such a feature suggests they might have been going about it the wrong way in the past, which is disheartening.
Or perhaps they are simply trying something new that could go over really well with fans, or blow up in their face. How do you feel about Black Ops 2 opting for a ping and latency based player matching feature?

The HUGE Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 patch that was released a few days ago seems to be causing a matchmaking error for many gamers who.
Hi there! I have previously done quite some research on the technical details of MW2 and MW3, and because a lot of people have asked for it, here is one for Black Ops 2 as well. Do note that this is based on observation only: I have not reverse-engineered the game, so some information here might be slightly off or completely incorrect. However, most of the information in this post should be just fine. Black Ops 2 appears to use its own matchmaking system. The system asks a master server for a list of good servers to join, and the master server responds with a list of 50 game servers in nearby datacenters.
If no server was found in the returned list, the master server either gives another 50 results, or the game client joins an empty server so others can join. Unlike Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 2 does not implement the Steam interfaces: you can’t invite players to your party or match via Steam. This is likely because Treyarch built its own matchmaking system. Why they did this is unclear to me: Steam offers a matchmaking service as well which automatically implements these features, and can do everything that Treyarch’s system can.
